Default System clock

I recently installed a new CMOS battery to get my clock to
stay accurate yet it routinely falls behind. I keep the
computer on all of the time due to a cable internet
connection. What can I do to have the system clock remain
accurate?

If your clock is losing time whilst Win Me is running, rather than when
switched off, then the problem isn't due to the CMOS battery but rather that
you have an application running that is stealing clock cycles and thus causing
the clock to run slow. The only way to establish which program it is is by
trial and error and eliminating each in turn.

Can someone unconfuse me with the way X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for
Windows 2000 works?
Is the "thanks" from the original poster "James Ascher" or a new poster :
?
I seem to be see a lot of people answering themselves.

ALL posters from the CDO interface (MS's Web access to the newsgroups) are
initially assigned that alias - it's only if they can be bothered to change
it that we see anything different
(most either can't be bothered, or want to maintain some degree of privacy -
or don't read the help pages)
