I use Outlook Express, and have two identities. I would like to know if and
how I can merge both into one?

Use FileImportMessages from the Identity you want to keep to Import =
messages from the other Identity. Hint: Pre-sort the messages in the =
"to-be-deleted" Identity into local folders that *do_not* have the same =
names as those in your "to-be-kept" Identity. Move *all* messages out of =
Sent Items, Inbox, Deleted Items and Outbox (if any). Make new, =
appropriately named folders if necessary--"Old_Sent_Items" for instance.

If you also have different mail and/or news accounts involved, use the =
appropriate Export functions from the Accounts wizard in the dead =
Identity, save the IAF files somewhere, then use the Accounts wizard =
Import function to bring them over to the "kept" Identity. Other things, =
such as Rules, Blocked Senders... I don't know. I don't *think* there's =
any easy way. But if there is, it will be found at =
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com or at http://www.oehelp.com/ or at sites =
closely linked to them.

Thank You. It worked but what happened that a few folders are listed twice
like the contact folder. How do I merge them now?

The Contacts "folder"? The Contacts bar is a representation of Windows =
Address Book, not an email folder. These procedures should have had no =
effect on that. Did you also perform an Address Book importation? =
Because that one it a bit trickier.

What other folders are listed twice? These are folders that contain =
messages? If so, just resort the messages and delete the useless =
folders.

Re-sort. To re-arrange, sort again.

If these are truly mail storage folders, all you have to do is move the =
messages out of a folder to another folder, then delete the folder when =
it's empty. You can delete all folders except Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items =
and Deleted Items.
