Default WIndows XP Professional does not start with RAID 5 degraded

I have a new Desktop with ASUS P5E Motherboard and a RAID 5 cluster with
4*500 GB disks . The RAID 5 is split into two volumes , one for the system
and one for data.

The system restarted, and showed that one of the disks have a problem. After
restarteting it once, it showed at startup (before windows loading) that the
RAID cluster is degraded and will be rebuild.

Windows startup continues for a couple of seconds and then the whole PC
restarts again , and this continues.

Any idea how to overcome ?
any questions that could help me to locate the rootcause ?
