Default PCHealth help

Using a Gateway Essentials 733c OS Windows ME 1.1.
Some how, while trying to correct a problem with AOL software, I wiped the
contents of C:\Windows\PCHealth\. That means no Help, no System Info, no
System Restore, etc..
Any way I can get the PCHealth app. back without doing a complete system
reinstall?

That folder contains several sub-folders which in turn contain many files -
too many to list - and some of which would appear to be machine specific.

The only 'last resort' that I can think of is to copy the lot from another
machine running WinMe and hope that it works. Otherwise it looks like plan
B.

Mart,

I have to agree. I feel that trying to extract the various files from the
Win Me cab set and then rebuilding the folders is probably too much effort
without any guarantee of success.

Mike and Mart thanks for help. I was hoping there was an easier way. I am
slowly rebuilding from an OS reinstall that I had to do three months ago when
Nortons IS caused a crash. solved that by buying a new Compaq with Vista Home
Premium, but wanted to keep the old GW because I have old things that Vista
can't handle.

Wow!! - an extreme and pretty expensive repair then? g

Seriously though, under the circumstances, you may as well cut your losses
and re-install afresh and just hope that you can access the intermittent
Windows WinMe Update site before it vanishes for ever (see recent
discussions in the WinMe.general news group). I guess you still have your
installation CD - either an MS or OEM disks - and am sure you will be able
to get assistance, should you require it, from the various contributors
around here.

Good luck

Mart
