Default 2ND Video screen

Hi,

So I'm using a slightly old Vaio with Windows ME and having difficulties
showing DVD's on a secondary montior, namely, a flat screen. I can see it
perfectly on my laptop screen, but I only get empty space where the movie
should be on the flat screen.

Solutions?

FW

Is the problem only when playing DVDs? Do other applications display
correctly when dragged to the second screen?

It seems to be all media (DVD, MPEG, Etc.) Is it just an old video card or
what?

So what exactly happens then if you play a DVD or display a jpg? Are you
dragging the object from the primary screen to the secondary? In many
cases objects won't appear on the secondary display unless you drag them
there from the primary display.

Well, its not about dragging it to the second screen. I actually have a twin
view set up, so what ever is on the primary screen is on the secondary screen
as well. It will display JPEGs and any other format, but just not DVD or MPEG.

This sounds as if it may well be an overlay problem due, as you have
already said, to the age of your video card or possibly the drivers for
the card. Have you ever been able to play DVDs on the second screen?
What software are you using to play DVDs? Have you tried using a
different application to play DVDs, even if only for testing purposes?

Quick Time, Windows Media Player, Inter DVD... none of them work. I can't
recall if my laptop has ever been able to do this, but I want to say that it
has. Any thoughts?

Thoughts, yes, as I've said already said, this is probably an overlay
problem and that updating your video drivers _may_ help.
