Missing CRFK.DLL Module
Well, that's good, in a way.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=crfk.dll My guess is that you ran a spyware cleaner that discovered the nasty, deleted the DLL, but failed to get rid of the startup command. First, go to StartRun, type in MSCONFIG, then click OK. Does it show as configured for Normal Startup or Selective Startup? If the latter, go through every tab and write down the items that are unchecked. Keep that list safe and post a copy here, along with the following: Go to StartRun, type in MSINFO32, then click OK. Expand the Software Environment, click on Startup Programs, then click anywhere in the right-hand-pane. Now press Ctrl-A, then Ctrl-C. Now open a Reply to this message and use Ctrl-V to Paste in the info. -- Gary S. Terhune MS-MVP Shell/User www.grystmill.com "Lynn" wrote in message ... Error message when I boot up my PC. |

Missing CRFK.DLL Module
You are running a Windows NT-based system (NT, 2K, XP, probably the latter,
I don't know.) This is a Windows 98 newsgroup and not the right place to ask for assistance. Some things look similar, but they are entirely different systems. You can easily get advice here that will screw up the system. You REALLY should take this problem to the appropriate OS forum, perhaps: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e... lang=en&cr=US (TinyURL = http://tinyurl.com/yvkr9) Or, perhaps you'd like to use a regular newsreader to view the newsgroup, instead of the clunky web interface you're now using: news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...dowsxp.general I won't go into any further diagnostics with you on this group. Imagine if someone looking for Windows 98 info found this conversation, a little later on in the procedures, and thought they applied to Windows 98. That person would also get into a lot of trouble following advice meant for an XP machine. -- Gary S. Terhune MS-MVP Shell/User http://grystmill.com "Lynn" wrote in message ...
