In a word that is nothing short of absolute rubbish. Don't let your
ignorance and frustrations allow you to question your tools but instead
try to learn to use them properly.

Hello Ledheadpb,

When I read of your problem I was reminded of some of the days of the
past seven years of my life, for I have had only one operating system
and will have only one. As a newbie I used to haunt these forums as much
as I was able because I not only knew nothing of computing but I knew
nothing of Windows Millennium. Those two factors were more than enough
to drive me to distraction and convince me of all manner of things.

May I say you have come to the one place where you can expect and get
serious help. I know of none better. You got that right, Ledheadpb.
That's a great start and now you have a choice. If your computer is
really important to your business why then either yourself or the person
who agreed to take responsibility for it can find all the support and
learning you will ever need here. Or alternatively you can pay for a
techie in your locality to work on it for you.

Who am I? Let my signature in the fun forum I have allowed mysekf to
graduate to speak for me. "Delighted but ancient user of the antiquated
Windows Millennium".

I wish you well.

Ben.

It depends on how you look at it i guess.... working with windows my whole
life i have to say i have had more problems with ME then any other Windows.
I would rather have 98 then ME. The only reason they even released ME was to
have an update for 98, but my opinion is probley off because i have not seen
anything good come from ME others may have another opinion the reason for the
post in the first place was to vent, it wasnt to stir up trouble from the
experts

and your help is valued and very helpful dont let an opinion from a
frustrated user put a your pants in a bunch soo to speak.

Thank you

You are clearly entitled to express and have your own opinion however your
statement contains at least one fundamental misconception.

The only reason they even released ME was to have an update for 98,

This is far from the truth. If anything, Win Me was used to launch (read
trial) a significant number of new features that were then incorporated
within XP including System File Protection, System Restore, Windows Media
eye-candy Player (v7 was the first "expanded" version of WMP), IE5.5,
expanded Help & Support, WMI etc, etc.

Your current problems with Win Me are totally unrepresentative of the
operating system. If I were to give you a PC running a fubared version of
Win 98, 98SE or XP you would be experiencing similar problems and
frustrations. That you are frustrated at having been given such a PC to
fix is quite understandable.
