NEED HELP AFTER SYS'D C:
disagreements between FAT tables are a pain- it's almost impossible to know
which one is correct. Chances are that it's FAT2 that's the right one, but.... Since scandisk thinks FAT1 has errors, then it's probably goosed, so I'd use the FAT2 data - let it fix the problem. once that's done, rescan the drive, and see what it reports. What's the EXACT error message on the screen when the startup fails? -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2006, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.crashfixpc.com/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "henry" wrote in message ... jezz. i did, windows attempts to start and then boom same massage again to restart. i think the startup files that start to load after the dispaly of logo are corrupt are messed but i don't know which they are do you have their listing? i could probaly what do you think? and i run scandisk (no errors) but it told em that my FAT 1 had errors and FAT 2 was a better copy. it asked to restore. should i? |
