Macromedia prompt yes or no to install
I do not want to install macromedia player, but it keeps poping up every move
I make. When I select no it just comes back again and again. Besides sayin YES, how can I get rid of this? |

Don't go to Web sites that use Flash animation.

Besides sayin YES, how can I get rid of this? What Richard said. It probably only pops up when you get to a page that uses it. This probably includes the use of Forward or Back. That is, even those will probably try to start the Flash Player. One way to avoid using Forward and Back in the great majority of cases is to use tabbed browsing in Netscape, or other lesser known browsers. In Netscape, multiple tabs in the same browser window started with version 7, but version 7.1 has a major improvement for it. I think that's the current version, but I haven't looked. I have phone connect.
The most aggravating one is the aggressive obnoxious upgrade ads my isp throws at me when my home page comes up. Long as I don't download Macromedia Flash player, it can't come up, but I keep getting prompted to download it. -----Original Message----- In microsoft.public.win98.multimedia on Fri, 3 Sep 2004 23:16:21 -0700 posted: Thanks, I understand why it pops up. posted: I have phone connect. That especially makes tabbed browsing desireable. You can look on one page and right click on each wanted link, and click Start in new tab. In the preferences, you can set, Don't change focus when opening tab, or something like that. Then you can continue to rread the first tab, and by the time you are done, the second will have loaded. By the time you are done with the second, all of the tabs will probably have loaded with the intended links. So it doesn't feel so slow anymore. That sounds reasonable. So, all I need is Netscape to get
the tabbed brousing? -----Original Message----- In microsoft.public.win98.multimedia on Wed, 8 Sep 2004 17:56:13 -0700 posted: I have phone connect. That especially makes tabbed browsing desireable. posted: That sounds reasonable. So, all I need is Netscape to get the tabbed brousing? Yes. I think version 7.1 is the current version. Version 7.0 works but was missing one important feature related to this. I heard other browsers listed for this on a computer show, but the same guy didn't mention Netscape! Just browsers I had never heard of (except I had heard of Opera.) His description of tabbbed browsing was just what Netscape has (although I don't think they give it a name.) so it seems wierd that he didn't list Netscape. Try it. You're not locked in. Although sometimes I think using IE makes it more like IE will crash and that IE can take windows with it, while other browsers can't. I don't know if this is true, though. -----Original Message----- Meirman If emailing, please let me know whether or not you are posting the same letter. Change domain to erols.com, if necessary. |

Thanks,
What's the best way to get Netscape, download off net, or get CD, or what? -----Original Message----- In microsoft.public.win98.multimedia on Thu, 9 Sep 2004 18:28:08 -0700 posted: That sounds reasonable.
