Default erroneous download into hotmail via OE

My Hotmail account wants to download '796' emails when i do a 'send and
receive' in outlook express6 (i have windows XP ).

These are not possibly *all* spam (a few might be) since i open and use this
account every day, even if i got the maximum usual spam that would only
account for about 4 or 5 items coming in, not the current 796.

at the moment i have unchecked the box; 'include this account when receiving
mail' in accounts in OE. because it slows up the computer.

i have had this trouble quite a few times before and it was 'seemingly'
fixed by at microsoft end. although i do not know what they did.

If its possibly to find out what this problem is, so it might help with a
more speedy resolution next time it happens.

OLEXP: Hotmail Messages Are Downloaded Twice :

(Though this isn't an OE group nor an XP group or even a Hotmail group but,
what the heck? They're not sticklers for details like that here in the ME
groups.)

You could log onto Hotmail.com and deal with the 796 in a browser so OE
won't have to download them.
