Default 98SE IP address setup

I am using linksys WUSB54G network adapters in a peer to
peer network between a XP pro and 98SE computer. The
wireless network requires a specified IP address, but my
ISP server requires an automatic assigned address. I can
do this on the XP but it appears to be mutually exclusive
on the 98SE machine. When I make the change in control
panel / network / TCP/IP wireless it also applied to the
ISP connection. How can I setup both a specified and
automated IP address on the 98SE?
