Default Enable Office Plug Ins Option In Norton AntiVirus

When I had Norton AntiVirus 2000 I was told to disable
Office Plug-Ins as follows:

"C:\Windows\System\Regsvr32" -U "C:\Program Files\Norton
AntiVirus\OfficeAV.dll"

With Norton AntiVirus 2003 and 2004 I have to uncheck
Enable Office Plug Ins so I do not get the requesting
virus scan message every time I open a WORD document.

I believe at one time Microsoft made some alteration to my
Works Suite, but I do not remember the whys and
wherefores. I think this may have had some bearing on
this problem. I believe it had something to do with the
Word-Ad Inc. Can anyone explain? What are Word Ad Ins?

Hi Joni,

I have never had this error with eTrust. I suggest uninstalling
NAV and installing eTrust. NAV causes more trouble than it's worth.

I was considering eTrust but decided to go with Norton.

Since I already paid for it, I will stick with it this
year.
