Default win98 .scr file association

Can anyone tell me what the default association
is for the .scr extension and how to reestablish it?

I installed autocad and it grabbed the .scr extension
which hosed up other apps. I removed the autocad
association and now when I click on "file.scr" it asks
me what to associate it with.

TIA
Oscar

Using notepad, copy/paste the following, and save as "scrfix.reg"
In explorer r-clcick on scrfix.reg Merge .

;start here

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.scr]
@="scrfile"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile]
@="Screen Saver"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell]
@=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\open]
@="T&est"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\open\command]
@="\"%1\" /S"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\config]
@="C&onfigure"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\config\command]
@="\"%1\""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\install]
@="&Install"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\install\command]
@="C:\\WINDOWS\\rundll32.exe desk.cpl,InstallScreenSaver %l"

;include this line to ensure the last line has an ending cr/lf.
;denotes a comment in a .reg file

scr files are screensaver files.I don't know what the file association
is.I believe your win98 operating system[explorer.exe] uses it as the
default to turn on win98 screensaver. Also different programs may have
there own scr files that are used only with there programs.
I have a screensaver that is used with a program[SETI} I run.When my
computer is idle it turns on the screensaver which also activates my
program. But it may tell the win98 OS to turn it on.I am unsure.
