Default Spool 32, Ptudfapp. Explorer Error Messages

I am currently running Windows 98 SE on my home PC.
Today I started getting an error box on start up that
said "Spool 32 - This programe has performed an illegal
operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists,
please contact the program vendor" I chose the "Close"
option, then I got an error box that said "Ptudfapp -
This programe has performed an illegal operation and will
be shut down. If the problem persists, please contact the
program vendor" again I chose the "Close" option. Then
I got an error box that said "Explorer - This programe
has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, please contact the program
vendor" again I chose the "Close" option. Follwoing
this, sometimes my PC freezes and I need to press the
reset button, and sometimes I can double click the icons
before it freezes and I need to do either CTRL-ALT-DEL to
restart or press the reset button.
Can anyone out there help me out by suggesting a way to
fix this problem.

Many Thanks

Scott

When you get an "illegal operation" error message, click the "Details" button, and
post back with the exact details word for word, up to but not including the memory
registers; and when it occurs.
