Open and Save Dialog boxes don't alphabetize my folders
I don't know how this happened, but a few weeks ago suddenly my Open
and Save dialog boxes display my directories in a random, unalphabetized way. They always used to be alphabetized. If i click "Details" and then the "Name" tab, I can get them alphabetized but that's more work, and I don't want to have to do that. I guess I accidentally changed a setting but I don't know how to get back to the way I had it. I usually want to view them alphabetized. Does anyone know the solution? By the way, is there any way to get these Open and Save dialog boxes to display bigger, so that if I do want to view "details" I don't have to scroll to the right in order to click the "Modified" tab if I want to view them that way (which I sometimes do). Is there a way to make them wider, for instance, so I could easily access the options on the right without having to scroll over there? Thanks! |

Thanks very much, Ron. That fixed the problem! Is there any way to get
the programs to remember the way I alter the dialog boxes? Like, if I stretch them out to make them wider, so that I can see all the items on the right without scrolling, is there a way to get my programs to do that every time without me having to do it over? Or if I narrow the Name column, because it's too wide, so that I can also see the Details column without scrolling. But I hate having to do this every time I restart a program. |

If you mean the open and save dialog boxes, there is no way I am aware of in Win98
to alter the default size of the dialog box when it opens. The width of the columns may adjust according to how you set them in Windows Explorer Detail View. There is a utility called Let Me See that does what you ask, but the download page ststes it is only for Windows 95. I used it for a while in Win95, but never tried it in Win98, so I can't say if it functions there or not. http://www.annoyances.org/exec/software/lemmesee http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article02-028 http://www.annoyances.org/downloads/ftp/lemmesee.zip -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Anne" wrote in message ups.com...
