Using Scandisk in Dos Mode
I went to Maxtor website and ran the disk Dignos program. It reported back that the disk was fine and all is normal. When I run Belarc, it to reports the disk is SMART (or Ok). Is there anything else that I can try? Once again, I have a Compaq Deskpro EN 733mhz, (Bios year is 2000), IE6, MSN9, Nvidia Graphic AGP, 40gigHD, SoundPro Audio. Thanks for all of your help.

Using Scandisk in Dos Mode
I still suspect the drive is damaged. Try contacting Maxtor or
Compaq for assistance. Or, you can just live with it until it dies and replace it at that time. -- Regards, Bert Kinney [MS-MVP DTS] http://dts-l.org/ How to Configure Outlook Express for Internet News: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=171164 "Donald McCann" wrote I went to Maxtor website and ran the disk Dignos program.
