Default Spooler32 Error and Long Paths

Hello,

I'm wondering if someone can provide some help. I have a Win98 SE PC. I
recently applied all the MS patches, and now when I print, I get a Spooler32
error. Now, I know that this is a *very* common problem and the subject of
a long thread in this group and on the Net. I've read just about every
article and yes, everyone of those MS ones (not really helpful).

Anyway, here's what I know:

If I try to print the file from a long path directory (e.g. c:\very long
directory\very long directory\very long directory\very long directory\very
long directory\very long directory\document.doc), the problem occurs.
However, if I just move the document to a shorter directory (e.g. c:\short
directory\document.doc), it's fine.

Now, I know what you're thinking: Why don't I just move it and print it
from there. However, this is on a network and I have a bunch of people with
the same problem and they all have very long directories. It'd be real hard
to get them all to change.

So, does anyone have any helpful hints.

Thanks,

Dave
