No domain server was available to validate
I have a Windows 2000 Server domain with 21 Windows 98 Workstation.
Network conectivity is Ok. TCP-IP conectivity is Ok. DNS and WIS name resolution are Ok, but... Every time I try to log-in my Win 2k Server With Windows 98, I get the message: "No domain server was available to validate" It works well with Win 2k and XP workstation. Do I miss anything? Help please. Edinaldo |

No domain server was available to validate
I was with the same problem since last sunday. I also saw the following message on System Event Viewer: "A duplicate name has been detected on the TCP network. =20 The IP address of the machine that sent the message is in=20 the data. Use nbtstat -n in a command window to see which=20 name is in the Conflict state. " The message from nbstat told me that the machine that was=20 with a duplicate name was my server !! (It always worked=20 with 2 cards and two IP=B4s). So I=B4ve disabled one of the network cards and after that I=20 could log on the W98 stations. I hope that this can help you - and if someone else knows=20 how I can enable my second NIC again, I=B4d appreciate.=20 -----Original Message----- I have a Windows 2000 Server domain with 21 Windows 98=20 Workstation.
