Cannot use Internet Explorer when TCP/IP bound to wireless adapter
Subject: Cannot use Internet Explorer when TCP/IP bound to wireless adapter
In My Network Places / Properties, I have [ ] Client for Microsoft Windows [ ] D-Link AirPlus DWL-G520 Wireless PCI Adapter(rev.B) [ ] Dial-Up Adapter. [ ] TCP/IP - D-Link AirPlus DWL-G520 Wireless PCI Adapter(rev.B) In a DOS window, when I run ipconfig.exe I get a valid IP address. When I do ping www.yahoo.com I also see that I am connected. But I am unable to open Internet Explorer, File Explorer, or Outlook Express -- the program hangs, sometimes the screen is half drawn. But I can connect to the internet using Opera and Netscape. Why does Windows crash? Note that when TCP/IP is bound to the dial-up adapter, then I can open Internet Explorer, File Explorer, and Outlook Express without error. |
