I gave my old system to my daughter and reloaded Windows 98, now I am having
display issues. The only options I have are 16bit and 2 color (I do not have
the origianl monitor drivers) I tried removing and reinstalling the generic
driver but I still only get 16bit and 2 color. I also keep getting the
message that the system has found new PCI adapter but can't find software (I
didn't add anything new)

Help!!! I don't have much more hait to pull out

Download Everest www.lavalys.com. It will tell you which video adapter is
inside. Google for the drivers.

The generic driver won't give you any more than that and most likely IMO
the PCI adapter it found is the video card. Take the cover off the case and
visually inspect the adapter for names/numbers to identify the
manufacturer/model.

Once you know the which card it is, go to their site and download/install
the latest drivers per their instructions.
