Default win 98 setup error

What causes this message?"MSGSRV32 CAUSED A GENERAL
PROTECTION FAULT IN MODULE KRNL386.EXE" BECAUSE I CANNOT
GET PASSED IT WHEN I AM HALF WAY THROUGH INSTALLING WIN98.
