Default Microsoft has released a new version of mshtml.dll

Microsoft has released a new version of mshtml.dll. Apparently there
was a problem with the one they released as part of the IE update
roll-up MS09-054 (974455).

Do not download/install this file if you haven't yet obtained and
installed the MS09-054 rollup.

The direct download link for mshtml.dll for IE 5.01 is he

The direct download link for mshtml.dll for IE 6 SP1 is he

If you want to obtain the IE6 SP1 rollup (MS09-054) here is a direct
download link:

Will you stop this crap, you have no test results for ANY of these
files you suggest installing, and ALREADY, as I said there would be,
there are flaws/vulnerabilities exposed.

Keep this junk on MSFN, and you might want to advise them put back up
their warnings before someone takes issue.

Well, was excite to see the updates until they were D/L'ed and I saw W2K
in the description for the EXE. As figured, the EXE checks the OS and
will not install in W98.

Just tried the latest MSHTML.DLL with W98SE. It works fine on an IBM
laptop, but on the desktop, when IE is invoked it launches to the home
page (Yahoo World News) then immediately closes leaving a Download
prompt asking if I want to DL the page !!

There's a glitch somewhere. To those replacing files, be sure your
current file is backed up and accessible!

That topic was covered a month ago (yes, Microsoft has packaged these
files specifically for Windows 2000 because Windows 2000 can only run
IE6 sp1, which happens to be the same as win-98).

You can't run the installation files for these updates on win-98. You
need to unpack them manually and place them (over-write them) in place
of your existing files.

Did you not read the following:

Do not download/install this file if you haven't yet obtained
and installed the MS09-054 rollup.

???

Did you install the MS09-054 files first?
