Hi,

I receive the following after WIN 98 setup during plug and play components
setup.
Fatal exception OD at 0028:FF041E68 in VXD acpi(OC) * 00003358

It is a hardware error of some type.
either defective hardware or a conflict.

Try removing all essential hardware and try running setup again


Other things to try:


Run a RAM test

try setting the bios to defaults

still get the same message.

you should run a RAM test
and if any faults are found, the RAM should be replaced

the test should be run for at least several hours...
but may of course be stopped with the first error found

otherwise just go ahead and try different RAM that's known to bo good
