Adding Microsoft Word & Works 2002 to Windows 98
I got a secondhand laptop that has a Windows 98 operating system. I tried
putting on my Windows 2002 Word & Works and it worked. There are a few quirks but I've solved them. Actually, I was afraid of removing the operating system. I have the Windows 2002 operating system CD but I've never installed an operating system. My question is: if everything is alright, can I add the 2002 to the 98 operating system? Or should I start all over, remove the 98 operating system and put in the Windows XP operating system for the programs that I'm used to on my regular computer? |

Adding Microsoft Word & Works 2002 to Windows 98
I think you are confusing the operating system (Windows 98 or Windows XP)
with the application (WORD or Works). Check the exact version of the application that you have. Word 2002 is also known as version 10. It is compatible with Windows 98, but it might overload your hardware. http://www.microsoft.com/office/previous/xp/sysreqs.asp -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "farfromthemadding" wrote in message ... Adding Microsoft Word & Works 2002 to Windows 98
Chances are the version of XP (or W2K--I am not clear on which) will not
work with your laptop since operating systems for laptops are highly customized. I'd leave well enough alone -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "farfromthemadding" wrote in message ...
