How to make, a.o. online banking, work using win98se
How to make the new actually used websites, for a.o. online banking, work
using win98se These days most (all ?) official websites require a minimal browser version unavailable for98SE , even +kernelEx. Can't accept this is impossible and so be convicted to a continued nerve wrenching struggle with the new (Up to date?) ms OS. Any one a solution? Tia, Luke Financial websites require their clients to use the latest browser for a very good reason - which involves the safety of your money. However some websites require it mainly for safety, not functionality. So, some sites may not actually require modern web features that newer browsers provide. Some sites can be fooled into thinking that you're using the latest browser version. i.e. User-Agent spoofing. But bear in mind that it'll only fake the browser version number and browser engine name (e.g. WebKit, Gecko, Trident). If the site actually use some modern web features that the current older browser doesn't yet provide, the site will be broken - either broken on its main functions (e.g. navigations, forms, etc.), or broken on its unimportant functions (e.g. ads, animations, etc.). Good webmaster will not make their site be fooled by User-Agent spoofing. Otherwise, there are many browser extensions to spoof the User-Agent. Try that, or use newer browser under linux. |

Any one a solution? Opera 12.02 is, to my knowledge, the most "advanced" browser that runs moderately well on win-98 systems with KernelEx. When I have to interact with a website and Firefox 2 or Netscape 9 don't work, I will use Opera 12.02 and almost always it will work.
