AH - I suspect that your default profile has a background.
Try this Boot normally - at the logon, use ESC and see what comes up If there's no logon, then once booted, log off, and then ESC from the logon, and see what comes up. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm In fond memory of one of life's Gentlemen - Alex Nichol http://www.aumha.org/alex.htm Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Me" wrote in message ... Sorry about the confusion. The pictures shows up at logon and dhutdown. I already had my view set to see ALL files. I expanded my search to LOGO*.* and got 23 files. some of them are gifs, but none of the gifs are that picture. I'll try some of the other suggestions aand get back. Thanks -----Original Message----- The two shutdown pictures are logos.sys and logow.sys - but you have now confused me by saying that you had a logo.sys, and that the unwanted picture is in your startup, rather than your shutdown Which is it? It may be that the file is hidden - check that you have your Folder Options set so that you can view both Hidden files/folders and System Files/folders. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm In fond memory of one of life's Gentlemen - Alex Nichol http://www.aumha.org/alex.htm Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "me" wrote in message ... I meant "logo.sys" -----Original Message----- sorry, Noel. Renaming "logo, sys" did not work. That was the only file you mentioned that I saw in C:\. This picture comes on right before the desktop loads. Any more ideas? -----Original Message----- Look in the c:\ directory for the files logo.sys logos.sys logow.sys these three are the files that appear as screens at start and shutdown. I don't have a individual logon - do you mean the WinME
logo? -----Original Message----- AH - I suspect that your default profile has a background. Whether you realise it or not, you DO have a logon -
r-click on the taskbar, and select Properties. Click on the 'Advanced' tab put a checkmark in the 'Display Logon' box and click OK now click on the Start button - you should see the option to 'Log Off Someone' Take that option, and see what the background reverts to if you ESCape out of the logon -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm In fond memory of one of life's Gentlemen - Alex Nichol http://www.aumha.org/alex.htm Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's wrote in message ...
