Default Bypassing password for Windows NT

Just picked up a Gateway 2000 tower pc for my daughter at a tag sale.

It has Windows NT installed, I want to format & upgrade it to 98SE, but
can't figure out how to bypass the logon password.

Someone suggested I remove the battery & give it time to forget, but I'm not
sure where the battery is.

As always any guidance you can give me is appreciated.

You can't bypass the password in Windows NT, nor will removing the battery
help. You will need to wipe the hard drive and start all over again.

He will have to any way as W98 can't use NTFS partitions.

Might I suggest to the OP:

Zap or Wipe freeware will remove all partition information so you can start
over fresh with FDisk. Download he

It is not that difficult to clean up the old one.
