Recognize a USB removable drive
I'm trying to use a USB 60 MB removable drive/stick, but when I put it in
nothing happens-therefore I can't write to it. I believe 98 isn't plug-and-play but I don't know what I have to do. |

Current USB hardware requires USB version 2, supplied with Win98SE. Win98 came with only USB version 1. What OS do you have and what does this hardware require? It is the BIOS rather than the OS which offers the plug & play option. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

You should be able to download drivers for your model USB drive/stick from the drive manufacturer. Only Windows ME and Windows XP have built in drivers for these USB devices. |

You get a note that it would work faster with USB 2, but it will work with USB 1 if you have the drivers. Windows 98 does not include the USB drivers, you have to get them from the USB device manufacturer. |

I got the drive from Dell. In trying to download the driver, they direct me to a link that's a dead-end. Any suggestions? Ken |
