Can you boot into Safe Mode, or does the same thing happen there?
To boot into Safe Mode: -Start the computer and hold down the CTRL key till the Windows 98 Startup menu (boot menu) appears. -Use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" and press Enter. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Patti" wrote in message ... Safe mode only shows wallpaper with the words "safe mode"
in all four corners, nothing else. Ihave tried to re'install windows but keep getting "an error occurred loading c:windows\system\shdocvw.dll. The file may not have been installed or it has been corrupted." What does this mean? -----Original Message----- I will try that when I get home.
