Default Foreign Language Character Sets

Hello -

When a Chinese character set is installed in Win 98, can
one alternate between the original English and the newly
installed Chinese? Or does the English version have to
be reinstalled?

Thank you.

What product are you considering installing, by name? My understanding
is... there is no way to have Windows speak two languages. There is a
Chinese version & an English version,-- & never the twain shall meet.
(Well, you may multi-boot them.)

You may possibly have Windows display Chinese WEB sites, though. For
that, go to Windows Update, & click "Windows 98..." in the left pane.
Then, look for the "Multilanguage Features" in the right pane...

Thanks for the reply. I have been asked to do some
development work for a customer that has a Chinese
character set installed on the computer he wants my apps
on. I can't read Chinese, and I haven't a clue how to
develop in English, and properly install it on a Chinese
box. I think I'm going to turn the job down. Thanks
again.

You are welcome. No doubt you have made the correct decision, if you
don't know Chinese,-- whether/not it were even possible for a Chinaman
to do it.
