Explorer freezes when attached to wireless router
I am have the same problem as this old post discribes. I did not
see a solution posted. :-( Does anyone know that the solution may be? I have been on the phone with linksys for over 2 hours and they can fix the problem. I also emailed Carey Holzman and he told me to contact the Linksys. PLEASE HELP! Arik Celeste Aug 14 2004, 7:27 am show options I just installed a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. My wireless computer works great. I have a Windows ME computer that is connected to the router directly to port 2 with an ethernet cable. When connecting to the internet from the Windows ME computer, Explorer (not Internet Explorer) seems to freeze up. If I remove the wireless router and connect directly to my cable modem I don't have this problem. Any ideas on what might be causing Explorer to quit responding? |

Are you also using Norton Software (as was Celeste)??
If so, then your first action should be to uninstall all such - and then try again Norton is NOT compatible with Win ME, despite all Symantec's posturing. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm In fond memory of one of life's Gentlemen - Alex Nichol http://www.aumha.org/alex.htm Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Arik" wrote in message news I am have the same problem as this old post discribes.
