Default start up doesn't start up

Hi,

My laptop with ME does not want to start when I want it
to. When pressing the start button nothing happens, and I
have to press again to turn it off, and press again to try
to start up, sometimes 6, 7 times before it does start up.

Two days ago the system crashed; after a system recovery
everything is back to normal, also the not-wanting-to-
start..... It's a nuisance. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

This probably is confusing; the laptop is on, but does not
start booting. Therefore I do have to turn it 'off', even
tho it isn't really 'on'. Hope this makes sence.

Your computer has probably gone into hibernation - read the manual for the
correct method of waking it up.

If you're closing the lid without shutting down, then it's probably
configured by default to go into hibernation - RTFM

Oh no, that is not how I turn my laptop off. I do
the 'shut down' thing from the 'start' menu, so it can not
be in hibernation. Besides, I had that option deleted a
long time ago because it caused 'wake up' problems.

I'm puzzled, and obviously no one else has experienced
this...??

Hmm - funny thing is, a friend of mine is complaining of exactly the same
symptoms today!!
I may get ahold of the PC over the weekend - If so, I'll let you know what I
find.

You said in one post:

"I had that option deleted a=20
long time ago because it caused 'wake up' problems."

In your first post you said:

"Two days ago the system crashed; after a system recovery=20
everything is back to normal, also the not-wanting-to-
start..... "

Two days ago is not a long time ago :)
With a system recovery it most likely put it back, so check your =
settings again.

All the best,
