Re-installed Windows 98; Lexmark Z43 Doesn't work
The link you referred me to helped me find the answer! I
had been having problems with hackers getting past my firewall by using RPC remote procedure call. So I deleted rpcss.exe from my Windows System directory. When I read the link you sent me to, I found out that Lexmark's printer drivers use RCP to print! Once I restored RPC from my system disk, my printer worked again! Thanks you very much for your help. -----Original Message----- How to clean up printer drivers http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm Notice the special section on Lexmark printers -- Mary Sauer MS MVP http://office.microsoft.com/clipart/ http://www.mvps.org/msauer/getting_started.htm news://msnews.microsoft.com "Rob" wrote in message ... After re-installing Windows 98, my printer quit working. When I try re-installing the printer software and driver, it fails because it is already installed. When I try to uninstall my printer and driver software so that I can successfully re-install it, it won't uninstall. Any suggestions? . |
