Default Need ME expert for Error Message: VxD LINK CALL: NTKERN(01)+0000331E TO "MTRR ", SERVICE 2

Please excuse the cross posting...
Just wanted to clarify "ME2" is what I called ME installed with all
available updates. Also, there were no restore points available.

I have read previous posts and Q articles relating to this. No help. I
had a working ME system patched up completely; but it would only boot
cleanly every other time. For some reason (perhaps did not shut down
properly) it would boot once into safe mode then once perfectly. This
was repeatable. Device manager is clean. Tried disabling all
startups. Long story short - tried re-installing ME. I think what
happened is the original CAB files overwrites the good "patched"
system (ME2) and dorks it up with different version DLL's. I am trying
to avoid at all costs re-formatting the drive. Compaq Presario
5102US. It's also missing the printing files (spooler) which another
post referred to.
I can piece back the missing software if I could just
eliminate/resolve or mask the error in the subject line. Also cannot
install IE6 service pak 1. Any help or direction here is greatly
appreciated. Thanks - Bill
