Default Can't ping the default gateway or access the Internet

Hi all,

Could someone be so kind as to help point me in the right direction. I have
a newly configured Windows 98 computer on an internal, private network using
192.168.1.x. It's obtaining the proper IP configuration automatically via
DHCP. From this computer, I can connect to the file server (192.168.1.10),
web server (192.168.1.11), and I can print to a network printer
(192.168.1.100). The problem is I can't ping the router (default gateway)
and therefore can't get to the Internet. Any pointers? Thanks in advance.
