AV scanner can't open Swap File.
Hi
When I run an AntiVir AV scan, it "warns" me everytime that it cannot open the file Win386.SWP which I presume is the Swap file. No other AV scanner seems to be concerned about this. Should I be? TIA Paul |

AV scanner can't open Swap File.
Should I be?
No. The swap file, like any other file that is currently in use, cannot be opened by another application, in this case your AV application. -- Mike Maltby PaulFXH wrote: Hi When I run an AntiVir AV scan, it "warns" me everytime that it cannot open the file Win386.SWP which I presume is the Swap file. Hi Mike Thanks for your reply. Given what you say, it seems strange that a respected AV scanner like AntiVir should be unable to recognize that a file with an SWP extension HAS to be the swap file and, therefore is almost certainly in use. Also, it doesn't seem to make sense to AV-scan the swap file as nothing ever stays there for too long. Anyway, I'll just ignore it in future.
