As for your files - Have you looked in the recycle Bin? If they are not there you bay want to try a file recovery utility like "Restoration" ; http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html This can recover RECENTLY deleted files and may give you a second chance. HTH & GL John Correct for best possible results turn the computer off at once... even the process of installing a data recovery program could over-write those deleted files. For best possible results install the data recovery software on another machine...then slave the laptop hard drive to it A laptop to IDE adapter will only cost a few dollars |

Use one of the LIVE CDs available if you don't have a convenient second computer OR are unfamiliar with the internals of a computer. Try Hiren's, Knoppix, or one of the others designed for recovery. Just *don't download* it to the computer you're trying to recover. Win98 does not include System Restore (nor would it bring your missing files
back if it was available). confussed wrote: Just got out old laptop with windows and thought i remembered how to set up new user account in the process I maneged to delet my own files as I thought i was deleting a new user settings Help I need these files for my work any and all advice appericiated Tks |
