Windows 2000 professional doesn't recognize notebook's internal modem
Ihave a Sony VAIO PCG-961A notebook, and have just
installed Windows 2000 professional operating system. This doesn't recognize the computer's internal modem. I have gone through the new hardware option a few times. I don't know enough to get around the problem. Can anyone help? thanks A |

Andrew,
May I suggest you try posting to a newsgroup supporting those running Windows 2000 as hopefully someone there will be able to point your towards the drivers you need. This newsgroup is for those using an entirely different operating system, Windows Millennium (Win Me). BTW, have you checked the Sony site for possible drivers for your Vaio notebook? Note though that it can often be hard to find drivers for notebooks and laptops where the installed operating system is different from that with which the laptop was originally supplied. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP [2001-2004] Andrew wrote: Ihave a Sony VAIO PCG-961A notebook, and have just installed Windows 2000 professional operating system.
