Default Networking Newsgroup query

I have a wired ethernet home network comprising 2 computers running Xp and 3
running 98. I have just dusted off my old Toshiba T2130CT running 3.11 and
have installed a 3 com Etherlink III LAN PC card. It's connected to my
Netgear DG 834 router and I'd like get it to work in the network so my kids
can use it for their homework. Unfortunately, I haven't got the faintest
idea where to start - I've forgotten any Win 3.11 network knowledge I ever
had! The Win 98s give a bit of a headache frequently - the last thing I
want is trouble from 3.11! If I need software over-and-above the standard
3.11 I need advice about this, too, please

I'd really appreciate help from anyone who remembers the old stuff - or is
using it still!

Regards.
