Default lan connection

We are running Windows 98 with a LAN internet connection. Is there any way to
have windows automatically reconnect when the connection is lost or is a
reboot required?

Start - Run - type in "winipcfg". Use the down arrow on the window at top
to select your network adapter. Then click on "renew" or "renew all".
But I can't understand why you would lose your connection in the first
place.
