In news had this to say: In addition to the colors, the icons in the task bar on the right side, the colors are almost faded away. thanks See Rick's response. Another addition is to find/hit the degause (spelling) button. Varies too much by vendor for me to find it for you but find it, hit it, see if that helps? Also look for more magnetic sources. Jack E Martinelli had this to say: That's "Degauss". Spelling is NOT one of my greater subjects. I manage to get by once in a while but that's just not one of the words I encounter on a regular basis. I suppose I could have poked around the menu on my monitor and found it. Thanks though, I'd spell check but I often forget. (OE Quote Fix breaks it.) Galen -- "My mind rebels at stagnation. Block your text when hitting Send and the spell checker will kick in and check it for you. You'll find it becomes second nature after while. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Galen wrote: Spelling is NOT one of my greater subjects. Mike M had this to say: Block your text when hitting Send and the spell checker will kick in and check it for you. You'll find it becomes second nature after while. -- Oh, it's not the application. It's the "me" that's the problem. I keep forgetting to block the text or just manually hit the spell checker. Sheesh. *chuckles* Usually I spell it correctly after the first time and note what's incorrect. I've always had horrid spelling. You should see my penmanship, not even my tablet can make heads or tails of it. I've been told that I should have been a doctor as my penmanship was so poor. Galen -- "My mind rebels at stagnation. Please explain "block your text".
I am an excellent speller and seldom use any checker. -- Jack E. Please explain "block your text".
"Block" as in the same way as you would block text in any application. You can do this by "painting" the text to be blocked with a mouse. Select the first character of the block, depress left button and drag cursor to the last character, release button. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Jack E Martinelli wrote: Please explain "block your text". Jack E Martinelli had this to say: I am an excellent speller and seldom use any checker. You mean you can spell "Degauss" without looking? I usually get my name right and guess at the rest. Well, not quite that bad, but there are times when I re-write something to fit with words that I know how to spell instead of using a spell checking option. I type rather well and rapidly so my errors are usually with spelling as opposed to typographical errors. Or I just cheat and put (spelling) after it so that people know I don't know how to spell it and have to actually guess at the meaning. Usually it's close enough so that people, such as yourself, are able to figure out my intent. I put a sticky pad note on the bottom of my monitor reminding me to spell check. Should be interesting to see if I remember it or not. Galen -- "My mind rebels at stagnation. Ah, I call that "selecting" or "highlighting" the text.
I suspect it's a " 'cross the pond" thing. Txs, -- Jack E.
