Default 98se vs XP

One second thought, :-), the one problem I have is getting the printer
that's attached to the XP system to be recognized by the 98's. It's a HP
722c and I tried to load additional drivers but don't know where to get
them. The instructions (help menu) talks about a support cd.
any ideas?

L.

I can use the printer that's attached to one of the 98's but would like to
figure this out for learning sakes.

What James said and I already agreed with. :-)

Most firewalls do not disable cleanly or completely. Uninstall until
you get your network working properly, then reinstall and configure to
support the network.

Didn't think about the Win XP firewall.
I have ZoneAlarm on all three but have it disabled.
Will check(uninstall) if this helps but would like to keep it.

Is the Windows XP firewall on? If so be sure you have allowed File
and Printer Sharing. If any of the PCs have a third-party firewall
uninstall (not disable, uninstall!) until the problems are sorted out.

This probably has been answered but here goes again.
Trying to fix tonight.

Have three systems here at office, 1x XP(he) and 2x 98se. All three
running through a router to net and an XP server.
The XP can see both 98se fine but the two 98se can't see the XP. The
two 98se's can see each other OK.

suggestions please,

L.

If they're not on the CD that came with the printer you may need to download
them from HP.

Thanks. I was looking for a "support cd" from MS. DUH!!
When I hooked up the printer to XP, I let it load the driver from XP as it
recognized the 722c while the CD that came with the printers was labeled
720c series.

IOW-The XP shows, under printers, the 722c while the 98se's still shows
720c. I figured that's why the 98's recognize the 720c driver that's hooked
up to one of the 98SE but not the 722c hooked up to the XP system.
