Default rnapp.exe

I'm having a problem with Win98. It was working fine with a new memory
stick and new CD-RW drive added.
I installed the first of the new software from the CD-RW set, and
rebooted as asked. Windows will not fill the screen with icons.

Can't get to safe mode either. It labels the corners SAFE MODE, get
grey box and click OK, then bottom 2 corners SAFE MODE disappear, and
I'm left with just a pale blue screen, but no task bar or icons; have
to reset. CAD at that point shows rnapp as executing, nothing else.
Same in regular mode (not safe mode), just the usual aqua screen with
no icons or task bars, and only rnapp running.

Only think I can do is come up to DOS.

Help!! I did some cable switching installing the new CD drive, but it
was all working. Installed first software CD (writing software). Then
I switched cables so the longer one made an easier reach to the new
drive, and it came up, but didn't know the drive. So I switched cable
back jsut as they were (and yes I've verified all are plugged in
right, etc). Now all I can get is the rnapp error.

What to do next? Help ASAP plz!
