Default I can't find this, help?

When I start my computer, which is running Windows 98 SE, I get a popup box
with a message and an "ok" button. When I click on the ok button, a second
popup box is behind the first, it also has an "ok" button on it. If I click
on both ok buttons the computer finishes it's start up and everything seems
fine. I've tried to follow the messages in the popup box's but can't seem to
find what needs to be deleted.

The boxes started to appear after I uninstalled a Far Side calendar program
that would popup on the screen whenever I started the computer. As one of
the messages said, I did go into what I think was the WIN.INI file and
deleted an entry with the same name as the messages say. But I keep getting
the popup boxes anyway. I'm lost. I am not a computer wiz or anything close
to it. So any advise would be greatly appreciated. It's making me crazier
than I already am...

The 1st message reads:
Cannot find the file "AMAZECAL.EXE" (or on of it's components). Make sure
the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are
available.

The 2nd message reads:
Could not load or run "AMAZECAL.EXE" specified in the WIN.INI file. Make
sure the file exists on your computer or remove the reference to it in the
WIN.INI file.

I have used the "find file or folder" search for AMAZECAL.EXE and don't get
any results.

Again, Thank You for any help you can give,
Al Z.

You don't get any results for Amazecal.exe because you uninstalled it.

You get the message because there is still a reference to it in
Startup.
If it is Win.ini then remove it with Sysedit.
Start-Run-SYSEDIT

If it is not in Win.ini then disable it in Msconfig.
(Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab)
If you cannot see anything in Msconfig then:

Start-Run-msinfo32
Click the + beside Software Environment to expand.
Click Startup Programs
Ctrl+A to Select All, Ctrl+C to Copy.
Paste that information in your message.

Alan, YOU ROCK DUDE!!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! The SYSEDIT
did it! My sanity has been restored. Ok, I'm back to my normal level of
insanity, but thanks to you it isn't gonna get any worse. Did I say thank
you?
