Default USB memory key and drive letters

I have an issue with a memory key that I cannot fix under
98. This particular machine has network drives mapped
under a certain drive letter that the memory key wants to
use. I am unable to change the drive letter of the memory
key. I go into the device manager and any option to change
the drive letter is greyed out. This would not be an issue
under 2000 or XP of course, but right now, we need to keep
98 on this machine for the time being. Any help would be
appreciated.

Just a guess. On the same properties sheet, make sure that
"Removable" is checked. If it was, then delete the device and
reboot. Be prepared to reinstall the drivers, if applicable.
