Removing IE6
This is an addendum to my previous message. Regarding my
search of the Registry to find the entries that this mal- ware program has loaded, when I go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER under Software, I find a suspicious entry: aaa_soft with several sub-folders. It turns out they contain various information related to how the malware displays itself on a toolbar that opens in IE6. I remove the offending entries, only to have them turn up again when I reboot and go back online. I search all the keys for similar entries, found them and deleted, only to have them reappear. So they are being loaded back into memory either from my system or the Internet. I believe there is a program operating somewhere in my system that activates code to insert the offending entries back into the registry. Can anyone help me resolve this problem? |

I just did a Google for aaa_soft and a few promising looking hits appeared.
Take a look. "D-man" wrote in message ... This is an addendum to my previous message. Thank you for this helpful information. Can you tell me=20
how IE6 is uninstalled. I've tried 10 to the 10th power=20 times to remove it, but I'm only offered the option to=20 either add a component or repair. I WANT TO REMOVE THE=20 PROGRAM. Am I suppose to believe that Microsoft designed=20 this browser so that it can't be uninstalled, because=20 that's what appears to be the case. If that is the case,=20 I will be immediately switching to another browser=20 altogether. Please advise. =20 -----Original Message----- I just did a Google for aaa_soft and a few promising=20 looking hits appeared. Take a look. "D-man" wrote in=20 message ... Well, remember that MS has been saying that IE is a part of the OS.
Why not try in an IE group. wrote in message ... Thank you for this helpful information. Can you tell me how IE6 is uninstalled.
