I must of deleted a file, but now when I boot my Puter, I
get a message saying it is missing a file for Windows. The
exact file is C\Progra~1\SYMANTEC\SYMEVNT.386. i can hit
any key to start windows, but this is annoying. Anybody
know what this is and how to fix it? It also says
something about the registry and system.IMI.
Thanks in advance.

Reinstall whatever Symantec (Norton) product you are using. If you are no
longer using it, please advise.

That is a Norton file. I believe it is their antivirus.
If you can get online, I would suggest that you run one of these free
virus scans.
Afterwards, you may have to reinistall Norton AntiVirus.
