incompatible rpc stub

i just got dsl but when i put in the program disk, it
gives me an error saying incompatible rpc stub. what is
the rpc stub and how can i fix this.

The recommended procedure is to install DCOM98:

Alternately, this procedure has worked in various versions of Windows:

Also, check Control Panel Add\Remove Programs for Gator, Webhancer, Web 3000,
Delfin, or Promulgate, and uninstall them. They may still be on the machine and not
in Add\Remove. You will find them with Ad-Aware.

Install Ad-Aware SE free edition, start it, click its 'Check for Updates' link in
the app to install updates, then use it to scan your system, and remove what it
finds.
