Default It's now safe to turn your computer off

Hi,

Windows ME repair install on a Compaq 5101AN (Duron 900MHz, 128MB Ram). The
computer no longer shuts fully off, instead brings up the "It's now saft to
turn your computer off" screen. It still has the hibernate option, doens't
power the system off completely either.

Any ideas on how to get ACPI working properly without a clean install?

Ok, a manual install of ACPI from Add New Hardware got things working
properly.
