Use Windows Explorer to move the items back where they belong.

Posting images or other binaries is frowned upon in these groups. Perhaps you can
draw a treeview picture like this:

My Computer
|
+ 3.5" Floppy [A]
- [C:]
|
+ Multimedia
+ Program Files
- Windows
|
- All Users
+ Application Data

and so forth.

I'd like to say I understand your explanation, but I don't. :-) I cannot tell
where you My Documents folder is, from your description. Save a screen shot of
Windows Explorer with all the relevant folders expanded to show the sub-folders,
save it as a .jpg file, and email it to me as an attachment, to:
glee29 @ mindspring dot com

All you need to do, though, is move the "My Documents" folder back to the root of
C:\. After that, you can re-arrange the other files and folders however you want
them, wherever you want them.

Click on Start, hover on Programs
and select "MS-DOS Prompt" from the Programs list

Type CD\ to get to the root

Type the following command

DIR /S DIRLIST.TXT

This will create a text file containing a list of all directories,
subdirectories and files

Type EXIT to close the DOS Window

Use WORDPAD to edit the C:\DIRLIST.TXT file.

Delete everything except the relevant information
about your screwed-up folders

Copy that relevant information into a reply to this post.

glee-
Not knowing fully who sees what as moderators, did you get the jpegs i
emailed yesterday that you asked me to do? I mailed them once from my
regular isp and they were returned and then i did them from hotmail. The
post below about MS DOS I am a nerd on, so wanted to know first. I also
really don't know what to delete that is not relevant unless it's the folders
that "are not" my documents, sorry to be stupid, but?
thanks

If you are referring to my post when you mention MS-DOS,
then I am concerned that you may have misinterpreted it.

Please understand that I do NOT want you to delete ANY folders.

The only deletions that I asked you to do referred to editing the text
file.

I will rephrase this

"Use WORDPAD to edit the C:\DIRLIST.TXT file.
Delete everything except the relevant information
about your screwed-up folders"

to read

"Use WORDPAD to edit the C:\DIRLIST.TXT file.

In the C:\DIRLIST.TXT file, delete everything
except the directory information for your screwed-up folders,
as I don't need to see the directory information for your whole drive.

Do NOT delete any files or folders for the moment."

I hope that the above change makes it easier to understand ?
It is simply a more concise alternative to your JPG suggestion.
The final TXT file will show the same info as the JPG would,
in a lot less space.

Being we are in a stalemate over the email of the jpeg i was asked to do, in
your instructions on MS DOS, are you indicating spaces in the commands at
DIR /S DIRLIST.TXT, are there spaces at R /S DIR, it appears there are i
copied and pasted your type here in the message, I typed the question are on
my concerns.
Then where is the list saved ? You say to copy it, where is it copied to in
the MS DOS command?

Sorry for the ignorance, I just don't know.
